Just now I saw my first crocus in bloom this spring. I can't remember needing spring to come as much as I need it now.

Hi, I've been lurking on LJ a while, so I thought I should post something. However, I still feel uncomfortable posting anything personal, so I'll talk about all that I have to do for Neffa.  Neffa has been having some problems with our site at NHS for a few years, though this will be our 31st consecutive festival at that location.  This year we no longer have access to the "lower hall", the 2nd largest dance space.  The high school has filled it with brand new fitness equipment which we are not permitted to move.  The Neffa board has decided it's a high priority to find a new site (though we haven't committed to moving yet) and I've volunteered to take the lead in finding a site.  I'd like to have several candidate sites identified by the festival (April 8-10) so that we can invite representatives to observe the festival and understand what they are getting themselves into.

I've had a lot of trouble searching for sites because schools, though they generally have a system worked out for renting out space, still don't do it very well.  They can't provide detailed information over the phone or via the web, and don't want to discuss rentals at all that far in advance.  I think I'm just going to have to spend time walking around schools and measuring room sizes.

Meanwhile, I still have a lot of tasks to deal with as chair of the sound committee including filling many staff positions.
